Perkins crafts a tale full of adventure with "Dragon Flame." Humans left Earth and settled on the planet Numar. After living in peace for eighteen years, dragons attack the human settlements. With Talei's ability to talk to the dragons, can she stop the havoc they make?

The story opens with a pulse-pounding dragon attack. Talei and her brother, Byron, live in Maass, a human settlement on Numar. After the dragons destroy the village, Talei and the survivors set out to warn the other settlements. Unfortunately, they aren't able to stop the dragons.

Talei's group and the survivors from Deen set up a camp. A survivor named Zach takes over this settlement. Against Zach's wishes, Talei and her brother set out to warn the other communities. Along the way, Talei discovers she can mind talk with the dragons. They are held hostage by a group of goblins called the "Pundra," and are being forced to attack the humans.

Talei meets Adri on the way to Boon. He's willing to help her free the dragons from the Pundras' influence. After mind talking with a dragon name Rafur, Talei's group sets out to travel to the dragon's continent. The adventure draws Talei and Adri close. Will Talei and Adri's attraction prove a distraction as they set about their task to help the dragons?

Perkin's imagination soars with this adventure-filled story. Talei and Adri face many obstacles from the dragons, disbelief from their fellow humans, and an ocean. Perkin's writing is easy to read and the plot moves at a nice clip.

I enjoyed the rich back story of the dragons. They possessed many emotions that the reader can identify with - love, distrust, kindness, and curiosity. Perkins paints vivid pictures of the setting that resonate in the reader's mind.

Talei, while only eighteen, rises to the occasion. She's strong for the young ones, and makes balanced decisions. Her perseverance in the face of hardship and adversity is admirable.

Adri is determined and wants to do the right thing. He's sharp, full of gusto, and not afraid to brave the dangers he faces.

The story is geared for young adults with Adri and Talei sharing a kiss or two. Their romance grows slowly over the course of their adventure along with mutual trust and respect. "Dragon Flame" offers an adventure full of excitement, danger, and sweet romance.

Read a demonic great

Dark SOLUS is one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Like Batman have been murdered dark parents; In contrast to Batman were the parents by a road not dark clubs, but murdered by an evil wizard, the Caliph and the ruthless leaders of guilds of the murderer, thieves and halflings. Why would anyone want to they murdered? Perhaps this is because his mother was a witch, and the name was father daemon, and they stood against the Caliph and the guilds. His grandfather, the shape shifting Dragon named Mephistopheles, aid dark as he plans his revenge against all those responsible for the death of his parents. In short, is the plot of the brilliant dark science fiction fantasy novel dark SOLUS: an assassin's tale by debut author David Andrew Crawford.

The novel opens with a bang. In the exciting first chapter, we read about dark the origin story of how tracked his pregnant mother and father, demon statues which brought magically to life. Although this attempt parents dark murder the Caliph and the other conspirators, did not succeed he eventually succeeds. This chapter thought I was a good way to open the novel, as there are us background information about dark period it also the reader with big fight and Chase scenes inputs.

The action and excitement no let, from there. Dark, his goal of vengeance of the training is supported, by the Styg, the warden of the Stygian deep, and his grandfather, Mephistopheles, receiving, as mentioned, is a dragon. Dark turns into one of the biggest murderer who has ever lived, and he is armed with an array of deadly weapons and abilities, his mother in witchcraft and know about the dark arts.

After twelve, the long years off and further training in the dark arts travel dark in the city of Duergar, very to confront his enemies in their home State. Sweet, it's a long time for one, his revenge to plan, but for dark, which makes all the eventual destruction of his enemies! However, like his grandfather explained to him, dark must "even powerful magical items to equip with." The problem is that no one seems to know what the items are, nor has control of it - that is to say the "three sisters of fate", except the Norn. Dark must first rotate the Horn of the Norns from the island preserved. Easier said than done, as it is from "the Harpy sisters" defended, and the Norn are pretty creepy, in their own right.

The know that his grandfather is him, dark - goes, which is called "Demon Raider," itself to honor his name parents are on the dangerous quest to find the magical items, he will need to defeat his enemies. His journey is combined with adventure and danger, and with the help of the grandfather of magic items he recovered, and the training received by the Styg, there is no guarantee that he can defeat and destroy his many enemies.

If dark you enjoy reading sword & sorcery novels, SOLUS: an assassin's tale by David Andrew Crawford is a book, you'll each want to add case your must read list. The novel is set on a place and a time when the boundaries between our world and reality and that the rich of Faerie were not fixed in place. Crawford vividly shows the world and the time of the novel, tremendous skills as a world Builder shows takes place. I look forward to reading more of David in the future, and I recommend dark SOLUS: an assassin's tale, who one of dark fantasy novels fan.

A good and happy review - book review of 'A good and happy child' by Justin Evans

A creepy page Turner, a good and happy child weaves together a disturbed man's past and present in an effort to understand why he has rejected his newborn son. The protagonist George Davies, on the request of his therapist, writes a number of journals detailing the shocking childhood events relating to the death of his own father many years earlier. Progression of the magazines is that Evans has no ordinary story of grief and loss, but a supernatural horror, laced with demonic possession, poltergeist activity, and a mysterious murder written clearly to the reader. The reader is left to decide whether George magazines show the delusions of a troubled child, or something deeper and darker.

A good and happy child is a gripping book. Evans writing technique is deceptively simple and incredibly readable; his style allows an examination of the classic horror themes without apparent clich?d or predictable. Particularly inventive, the author's description is void-land in the young George's ' friend ' him early in their sinister relationship, takes a place "warm and lively, grey and Dick" displays human souls as light Windows on a huge battleship. Evans used this descriptive ability to encapsulate by childish fear and easily convinces the reader of the youth of the Narrator to impress his unreliability and its nature. George young is a pity friends, or well-written from otherworldly influence than a sign need, help and protection to himself, his well-meaning adults and it becomes clear that he receives nothing the tragic nature of this sign is increased. A good character in a sea of less good characters, young George shines and is a beacon for the neglect which troubled children and mismanagement can do damage by demons and delusions.

However, there were shortcomings. Undeniably, a readable book, Evans has created a rather one-dimensional page Turner. There are brilliantly written a distinct lack of land, and that young George is a cast of characters has overshadowed: the hippie, spiritual psychoanalyst, the academic feminist and the homosexual art Professor quotes spill. The other characters, especially George's mother and her partner Kurt, remain without a degree of depth, which would have made richer the novel. In addition, the supernatural scenes lacked punch and created only the final image of the "daemon" nothing really spine-cooling. For a book than advertised "incredibly frightening and weakening..." (Brad Meltzer), not too much supply there, which was truly frightening.

Overall, in spite of shortcomings of the novel a good and happy child is a pleasant read. If you're looking for a really eerie supernatural horror story, it would be best to avoid, Evans novel. However, if you want something, readable, well-written and with plenty of room for interpretations audience, a good and happy child may be just for you.
